Tick! Tock! Time to Go Back!

Got a phone call from a colleague today telling me to check my school email! “Oh,oh”, I thought,”That doesn’t sound good.” Sure enough, I had received an email from my principal, a foreboding of what’s to come. It’s time to go back to  work!    On one hand, I am excited and ready to jump in and try all the new things I’ve learned during the summer. On the other hand, I am going to miss waking up late, sitting on the deck, just enjoying life at my own pace.

We didn’t do so well this year, not based on any actual student growth, just test scores.  Collaboration is the new buzz word, sooooo, we  will  have to stay after work, one day a week, every week, to work  collaboratively. Micromanagement at its best.  But no worry, you can come to work ten minutes later on those days.:)   How many teachers  are at work a lot earlier than they should be every single day?

However, dreary as it may seem, with all the new rules, little prep time,and  tons of useless staff development,  I love  the beginning of a new school year!  Nothing gets my blood pumping like a new group of students to excite and educate! 🙂 Hope everyone has a great year!
